Frosting

Recent snowfall glistened like frosting on the trees when I wandered out with my camera.  The effect was not what I envisioned but was still magical. 

Middle of a Field

A nearby field has an interesting wetland smack dab in the middle.  Even during the growing season, tractors carefully plow around it lest they should get stuck in a sea of mud.  In the colder months, it rains often enough to keep the water levels high.  A recent hike inspired me to stop and take a few pictures.  Here is one of my favorites.

Before Winter

Last weekend, a bit of a hike rewarded us with a waterfall we enjoy visiting from time to time.  Its moods vary according to season, sometimes becoming a wall of ice several feet thick in cold weather, other times roaring with the water from a heavy rain, and yet always beautiful.  Naturally we will return from time to time to document the changing seasons.  In the meantime, the water will continue to tumble on down through a wild gulf and to the larger waters beyond.  Sometimes high, other times a mere trickle, but always inviting in its very wildness...
